Besides tinkering with computers, I love watching movies! My girlfriend can show you just how much I do - she keeps all the tickets from movies we watched, there are hundreds by now.

I collect a lot of my favorite movies as well. Here is the list of my collection at the moment. Most are in divx format, few early ones are in VCD format, but I find VCD quality unbearable anymore. All later ones are either DVD or divx rip.

If you are into movie collecting but still stuck with VCD or VHS and you have a decent machine: it is time to check out how to rip DVDs. Even though it is quite time consuming (around 4.5 hours to rip and encode a 100min DVD movie into a 1.4g divx file - two 700M CDs on my Athlon 1.4G machine using divx 5.01 codec), the result is stunning, I cannot tell much differences between divx rip and DVD especially those ones done by the new Divx5 codec,
